It was another beautiful day in the Canadian Rockies when four of my hiking group headed up Evan-Thomas Creek in Kananaskis Country. It was fascinating to see the places where last June’s flood had washed away huge sections of land. In this photo Clarence is looking across where this wide trail used to be. That beige bank with trees on top was once where the trail extended to where Clarence is standing. Fortunately Mount Kidd is still wildly beautiful under the blue sky. The trail is mostly in the trees, but we did find a sunny spot where we could make snow seats in which to relax over lunch. Leslie’s spot was rather cool and feeling wet, so she stood up, but Clarence, Elizabeth and I braved it out until we finished lunch. Leslie hustled back down the trail as she had an appointment with her daughter she didn’t want to miss.
C & E and I topped the day off with tea/coffee at the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis and I listened to their stories about their kids when the kids were much younger than they are today.
