Today was a wonderful day to be out because the weather was balmy at +6˚C. Six of us put on our grippers (a.k.a. mini crampons) and hiked up Johnston Canyon. A lot of other people had the same idea so we were never alone on the trail. Close to the Upper Johnston Falls we found a bench that was free of snow where the senior seniors in the group could eat their lunches. The creek was so nice with some open water and several waterfalls and ice falls and three ice climbers at the Upper Johnston Falls. I met two other climbers heading that way when I was hiking back. You sure would not want to be without grippers as the few people who didn’t have them were really struggling and two or three slid down one bit on their backs. Enjoy my photos.
