Quaite Trail & flood damage

DSC02894DSC02896DSC02895Last Thursday with my hiking group I hiked the Quaite Valley Trail from the Heart Creek trailhead off Hwy. #1. The part of the trail through the forest had some very lovely flowers, the majority were white violets. The part that was once Jack Quaite’s logging road (1940s) had been severly damaged by last years big flood. The Kananaskis trail crew had made a way through this area so it is now passable. Close to Hwy. #1 there are several clumps of Jacob’s Ladder flowers. All is not lost.
