High Rockies Trail – Three Sisters Dam to Driftwood day use

Last Thursday afternoon in spite of low clouds on the peaks of the Bow Valley I drove up to the Spray Valley and discovered the clouds there were high enough to see the peaks.

The section of the High Rockies Trail from Three Sisters Dam to Driftwood follows the lake shore most of the way to Driftwood, so I was able to get a few nice photos, I even found a few asters still blooming.

Tamara was telling me that mountain bikers are really using this trail. Some of them come from Banff with small tents and light camping gear and camp out near Elk Pass returning back to Banff the next day.

Someone else told me that while the trail was still being built the mountain bikers were hot on the tail of the trail builders. Such enthusiasm!dsc04057dsc04058dsc04059dsc04060
